Pre-apprenticeship

Welcome to the Pre-Apprenticeship program!

The Diablo Valley College (DVC) Pre-Apprenticeship program is designed with the career-focused student in mind.  This fast-paced program puts students on track to a career in the building trades.  

Students will receive the training they need for a new and exciting career in a number of apprenticeship programs, including:

  • Electrician
  • Carpenter
  • Plumber
  • Laborer
  • Ironworker
  • Steamfitting
  • Pipefitting
  • And more! 

 Students in the pre-apprenticeship program will: 

  • Experience hands-on training
  • Learn about the construction industry
  • Acquire points toward entry into apprenticeship trades
  • Gain valuable preparation for apprenticeship entrance exams
  • Learn critical safety techniques and best practices
  • Acquire industry-wide recognized employability skills
  • Review basic math competencies

Gainful employment reports

Pre-Apprenticeship

In compliance with the October 2010 Gainful Employment regulations published by the U.S. Department of Education, the Contra Costa Community College District is providing the following information for the District’s Career Technical Education programs that offer Certificates of Achievement: program costs, normal time for completion, average loan debt incurred by students enrolled in the program, completion rates, and potential careers fields for program graduates.
